FALL

It’s almost SEPTEMBER, so happy fall y’all! My Basic Bitch flag is flying high today!

Bring on the bonfires, orange leaves, pumpkins (& pumpkin flavored crap), and sweater weather! It definitely doesn’t feel like fall here in sunny, muggy, inferno-sauna Florida, but I love fantasizing.

Last fall was a daze for me. With a brand new baby and my new routine as a working mom with a House Husband. I did get to drag them out to Hyde Park in Tampa for a super cliché pumpkin picture of my babe. I told myself she’d be sad if she didn’t have a cute autumn pumpkin photo, but I later realized it was entirely for me. Sorry I’m not sorry, baby girl!

Here she is! Ugh, I mean how could I not?!

but this year is different…

I’ve been quiet on here because life has been biz-zee…. V Busy.

My husband, the wonderful stay-at-home Dad that he was has been transplanted into Long Island, New York. We’ve planned this for, literally, YEARS. As veterans to long-distance relations, this never concerned us. Despite our vastly expanded responsibilities since our last take on the LDR, it is pretty easy to pull off these days. Also, we have several factors in place that make things even easier than they’ve been in the past!

For instance, this is the first time we’ve been apart in the same time zone! I’d call that a win.

Our average flight costs are about $1000 less than last time! Good.

AND, we are actually financially stable this time around! All good things!

As much as I miss him, and he misses us, and I need help (help me), I have a handle on this! V adult these days. I’m going to have to treat myself to a PSL just for making it through the week.
