Pretty Passive

Hurricane Party

Personal Development

I am kicking myself today.

As a Tampa Bay resident, my city was marked for doom for the last week.

Because of that, life has been HELL.

There are still people without power, which totally sucks. Florida is bad enough WITH power. jkjk…

hurricane irma oak tree

this is our oak tree. yikes, right?

But my house did well in the storm. Our fears were NOT realized (Yay! The oak tree didn’t fall into my bedroom!), and I have power!!!! I have so much gratitude, so please forgive me for the rant to come….

Fortunately, we and everyone I know did not suffer. Not in the ways we expected, at least. The hardest part for our area (and most of Florida), was the week leading up to this storm. I won’t say it wasn’t a nasty storm (poor Caribbean Islands took a beating), but the frenzied Floridians is what did it for me. Not the wind and rain.

Such a mess

Starting last Monday, when Governor Rick Scott issued a State of Emergency for Florida, it has been a shit-show. Price gouging, gas shortages, every hurricane preparedness item GONE from every store (particularly WATER). It’s been a rough several days.

To top it all off, I’m so thirsty! Ahhhh it’s killing me! The water hoarding began over a week ago. There is STILL NO WATER FOR SALE. Or Ice! That is shitty, but here’s where I start to show my snobbishness….

I have some water still, but it is spring water…

 I’m a Water Snob. I’ll admit it.

I always preferred Purified Water, but during my pregnancy, I couldn’t drink anything else. Spring Water makes my stomach turn and it suckssssssss! It’s literally tap water. Why would I buy it? Ugh.

Anyway!

Over the last 4 days of “hunkering”, I’ve put a lot of thought into all the blog things that I want to get going. I was itching to blog, but every bit of life has been unbelievably hectic.

But I’m also ready to expose another side of myself that I feel obligated to share (for my own selfish creative-outlet reasons. maybe some people will benefit from it too, idk). Considering this blog of mine is still in its infancy, I feel ok about changing things up and just going for whatever  I want.

With the redecorating of my Master Bedroom, I have been so inspired to indulge in my design interest and share it with the blog world! I’m no pro, but I am so damn passionate about my style and it’s inspiring so I hope people can enjoy it with me. My office was closed for Monday and Tuesday, so I was kinda-sorta able to have a “do-over weekend”. The World Market was open, and I needed some retail therapy. And that is exactly what I got for myself!

I will be updating with pictures, and breaking this into a couple more posts for blog-aesthetic reasons. I’m learning!
