Y’allllll I am still striving for this room makeover, I swear, but it has been a less-than-impressive process. This week is no different!

Things have been happening, in the room and in life. And I honestly took on this challenge to push past my incredible excuse making abilities. So here I am.

But because this is my blog and one of the only places I share real time life updates, I want to share what has been happening in the room and in life.

over the past week

in the room:

I did complete the first coat of paint (my go-to white). It’s looking rough.

I purchased the light fixture (yay!) and ceiling medallion (YAY 🤤).

I took off one drawer front from the dresser. It was surprisingly easy, and I can’t wait to prime and paint it. Cross your fingers!

I cut out new window sills from my lumber stock. I need to make a trip to get some more in a different size, but cannot wait to match the one window I fixed during last season’s one room challenge. It still looks soooo goood.

and in life:

My baby girl graduated from pre-k. That is an emotional whirlwind and came alongside a ceremony and pool party with her class.

My kid brother joined the Navy. He left for basic training after a couple very serious and very unbelievable weeks. It was a big move for him and a big adjustment for my family’s day to day life. So we soaked him up a little extra!

My baby boy is just that. A baby boy. I’m exhausted and wayyyy too happy to let him nap on me. It won’t last forever and big girl’s graduation is the perfect reminder of that! I do not pressure myself to get to work in every spare second.

it was the start of a new month so I did the budget, which only takes me 15 minutes but still! 🤪

like I said, GREAT at excuses.

By next week

The room will be painted, the new light and medallion will be installed, and the dresser will be primed (with paint close by).

We are getting very close to the deadline, so luckily most of the decisions are already made. At this point I need to just shift my excuse making efforts to the bedroom. I can do it. I’ve done it before. The nursery was mostly completed in the last 2 weeks.

I won’t admit that this is just how I am, because hopefully this is the last time I pull this crap, but it has worked before soooooo….?
