I am so freaking excited to participate in this fall’s One Room Challenge! I’m addicted to instagram and the majority of my feed is all design so I feel like I’m forcing my way in with the cool kids. Shamelessly. It’s my first time and the weekly accountability is exactly what I need to 1) get this room together and 2) get a jumpstart back to reality after giving birth
My baby boy is rounding out two months old and his nursery currently functions as a changing room. That is all. I completely avoided decorating his room during my pregnancy despite being home the entire time. The beautiful benefit of COVID-19 Quarantine was being sent home to work alongside my husband and our big girl. But like everything else in 2020 it was rough and we spent more time navigating the “new normal” than we did embracing the homebody lifestyle I dreamed of.
Needless to say, the nursery was placed on the backburner while I handled our preschooler and held down my full-time job. But the baby is here, I quit my job, and our preschooler is in preschool. Praised be ohmygod.

Space Themed Boy’s Nursery
I’m really digging the space idea, it’s educational and kid-friendly. My daughter loves space, so I’m hoping she can enjoy this room with us too!
It is super tiny (about 10×10) but it’s the perfect mini nursery and we loved it the first time around. I’ll be repurposing the little chandelier for the big girl because who doesn’t love a chandelier?!
Currently:

This has been our catchall room and recently graduated to the changing table room. I can’t wait to give it a new lease on life and become a tiny man cave.
My ORC Fall 2020 Checklist
I’ll be updating you all with my progress every Thursday. I’ll be sharing these updates to instagram too which is very new to me. I’m a dedicated lurker. Be sure to follow along there (my social platform of choice).
There are so many amazing projects every session (season?) and you can check out the others here.
The project list
Painting! I already bought the paint and supplies earlier this week. I’m going to have a majority white room with a colorblock navy accent wall.
I may or may not install new baseboards or create a board and batten feature, so stay tuned there, but I really want to work with concrete and make a fun ~*spacey*~ planter.
I’ll be making some DIY wood picture ledges for books too! I made one of these for my mom and learned a lot so I’m glad that first draft didn’t make it to the blog š
The shopping list
I’m pretty flexible with these, but for mood purposes:
Light Fixture, Leather ottoman,Geode drawer pulls, Watercolor Planet Art & frame
The repurpose list
Everything else is being repurposed from baby #1’s nursery.
The crib (IKEA Sniglar), the dresser (IKEA Hemnes), the glider (babyletto), the rug (featured over baby girl’s refinished hardwood floors), and the mirror (Tarjay all day)
