Primary Bedroom Makeover Reveal

It’s been 8 weeks of making my contemporary eclectic art deco haven come to life. If you’ve been following along, I have failed the challenge this time. We are no where near done but I am still in love with the concept and fall more in love with the progress each day. Frankly, any final “reveals” are more like time capsuled snippets because my space is always evolving. Either through adding art, upgrading curtains, or personalizing the crannies to inspire me.

Having said that, I will be updating this post over time (as the rules stated I could. thx!) and I’m actually thrilled about this take on my One Room Challenge! It’s fitting for me and my current lifestyle with little people, summer vacation, and a work-at-home husband.

Although we aren’t done, here is where we are.

exuberant pink dresser and DIY window mirror dupe - ORC reveal

The before was so muted, and not in a trendy way. This is what I’ve wanted and have been dying to make my entire house into but, you know, other people live here and I’ve been patiently feeling out my style before committing to bold colors in big places.

However, painting my dresser last week has been everything I hoped it would be. I get a vibrant pink (ahem.. exuberant pink) without being completely married to it. For reference, I wanted to paint my ceiling that color, but painting a ceiling is a gruesome undertaking.

Between the splatter and the commitment… I’m not ready. The dresser satiates me and can be my daughter’s one day. Obviously she loves it too.

The Details

My DIY window mirror, West Elm/Pottery Barn Dupe turned OUT huh?! It looks so good on camera, but very DIY IRL. I would like to make some improvements to it, but had to get it up for today. She’s getting a how-to of her own asap!

The Disco Ball was non negotiable and lives on my dresser and the serape table runner I’ve had from baby girl’s Taco Twosday. I love love love it all.

The rug is from Boutique Rugs (to be linked. like i said, screaming baby).

I’m dying to get more (read: better) pictures and update this! However, I reallllly need to get this post submitted to the One Room Challenge blog before tonight! But I did just make my first two reels and one of them was the evolution of this wall and I’m going to have to throw that in here too. Once the baby goes to bed!
