Pretty Passive

Solo Shower

Personal Development

1 Oct

Hey!

Before I get into this, I have something even more exciting to announce…

It’s October 1st! The pumpkin-loving basic “B” inside me couldn’t just let that go unsaid.

Welcome to Fall! From me, the Floridian wearing a Billabong romper from college…. It is sadly 30 degrees hotter than I ever want October to be, BUT here I am! 🙂

Now, onto the purpose of this impromptu post to you…

I just took a shower… by myself… for the first time in 6 weeks…!

Babygirl is napping (hard), and I managed to sneak 20 minutes of self-care into my day. This is one of the desires (necessities?) that had been placed on the back burner during my corporate days. I am truly so happy to have had that time just now, I had to share it with you all!

Since my husband left for school in New York, parenting has been 100% on me. It is HARD, and I don’t know HOW single mothers do it. They should be given a stipend for childcare/housekeeping services/massages. It’s just insane!

Since showering is one of the few things that she and I both need to do, we’ve been doing it together. This has been saving me time for blogging while she sleeps.

But I’m about to do something that might be crazy, and I’m hoping I can get some perspective from other mamas out there.

I am taking a long-weekend to go visit Tano, and baby is not coming… It’s hard for me to come to grips with it, but I need this. And not just me! WE need this. For our marriage and his sake, we are taking a baby-free weekend and leaving her here with my mom (and the dog, and the house, and my brother).

So get excited for some pictures that make us look like we’re childless! It’s kinda breaking my heart, but I’ve also kinda been burnt the eff out for a little too long.

Have any of you ever left your baby for a long weekend?

How did it go? What did you do? Fill me in with a comment!
