Working from home is a new working mom’s DREAM, but finding a legitimate job at home is usually… discouraging. Not because they don’t exist or they don’t pay well, but because the good ones aren’t that easy to find. At least if you don’t know where to look. That’s why I wanted to round up the best work from home job boards for you to start job hunting.
So if you’re stressing over returning to work, you might not have to. I’m talking about a never-ending maternity leave… sort of. Working from home has been the best solution to all of my working mom problems. But if you’re still looking for gigs on craigslist, then it’s no surprise why you haven’t found your way out of the office.

Enough freelancing. We need legitimate jobs with steady paychecks.
I feel you. Oh boy do I feel you! I have found success as a freelance writer, but that came with a lot of hard work and sacrifice. A lot more than I had to offer as a new mom and breadwinner. I would have loved to just do what I was doing… but from home.
Thankfully, these jobs exist!
You can get a real job with benefits, 401k, paid vacation, maternity leave, and steady pay. So…
Where have all the good jobs gone?
I would hear of people working at home and just knew I HAD TO get my hands on one of those gigs. Not because I’m antisocial (I actually never shut up) but because I don’t need an office to be productive. Being in an office space distracts me. Call it shiny-object-syndrome but I found myself creating grocery lists and scheduling out the 3 hours I would have to do all of my chores after a full day at work.
If I’m not needed in the office since all of my work is done – why couldn’t I start a load of laundry?! The solution was simple. Find a job at home. This is the perfect balance for so many of us because we’re:
- still contributing to the finances
- not wasting valuable time “commuting”
- easily accessible to our babies
- able to stay on top of household management
Alright, I’m done dilly-dallying. Here they are.
1. Flexjobs
This is the cream of the crop. Started by working moms, for working moms, and they really have their stuff figured out. Jobs are hand-screened and verified by their team so you don’t have to worry about those craigslist-style scams. Here’s a snippet from their website:
“FlexJobs is the leading job search site specializing in the best remote, part-time, freelance, and flexible jobs available. Find a better way to work today!“
There is a price for this service, starting at $15 a month with cheaper rates for longer “subscriptions”. BUT they offer discounts all. the. time. In May, there was a Mother’s Day discount AND a Memorial Day discount. I always share these deals in my weekly newsletter, so be sure to subscribe and watch for those! You don’t need to pay to search for jobs, only to apply, so start searching for FREE today.
2. Remotive
Remotive is more than just a job board. It’s a community of remote workers. Their founder, Rodolphe wants to help people be great remote workers and connect them with all the right resources to succeed in finding, securing, and excelling in a remote work environment.
A lifetime membership to their remote worker community will run you $49, but you can subscribe to their newsletter for free tips to land remote jobs.
3. Power to Fly
Power to Fly focuses on more than just awesome opportunities for remote workers: they put an emphasis on matching company values with employees’. So if you are only interested in jobs at diverse, ethical, and reputable firms – then this is your ticket! Their goal is to close the gender/wage/minority gap, so startups and large businesses turn to them for their pool of skilled women, trans, and non-binary individuals.
The best part is it’s entirely FREE! Create your profile today to start scoping out what they can do for you.
4. Werk.co
Werk.co is all about flexibility. And why wouldn’t they be?! Moms realize that flexibility is critical for life, and work shouldn’t get a free pass.
“Now, as the country’s foremost experts on flexibility, they’re rewriting the rules of work so they work better for everyone.”
This is another free resource that helps women showcase, develop, and properly work their flexibility. Because, in their own words, “We cannot parent like we don’t have jobs and work like we don’t have children.”
Amen to that.
5. In Her Sight
In Her Sight offers a job search tool AND company search function. Companies are rated for their female friendliness, family support, maternity leave policies, upward mobility, growth opportunities, and more! They’ve done a great job laying it all out there.
Think “Tinder for Employers”.
I am subscribed to their newsletter and regularly see amazing job opportunities as soon as they’re available. They also offer a Q & A to get opinions from professionals on whichever work-related topic you have!
6. Remote OK
Remote Ok is a job board for nothing but remote jobs. They offer tailored job search emails delivered as often as you’d like, in whichever field you like.
They have an active Twitter presence, so be sure to follow them for timely updates!
7. Après
This platform only allows job listings for companies who have openly vowed to hire women reentering the workforce after the motherly circumstance we are all so familiar with. It’s such an awesome idea, and they are collaborating with some pretty big names in every industry.
At Après, they realize the talented women shouldn’t be penalized or unfairly judged for needing more than the standard length of maternity leave.
You can sign up for free to get their weekly newsletter and awesome content designed for working, new moms. Or, for only $49 get access to the Job Seekers Package with one year of ongoing job listings geared towards women reentering the workforce and vetted career coaches.
Finding the flexible job of your dreams is more possible than ever. I know how depressing it can be to run away to an office every day when that is the LAST thing you want to do with a new baby. Just having a family is a job and a wonderful one at that. Just because you’re making money doesn’t mean you have to be away or fit into the cookie cutter 9-5.
Be sure to check out all of these options, because right now these are the best work from home job boards. Get your search on, mom.
